Good news seems to be in short supply some days. Failed leaders, failed companies, and failed relationships make the big headlines for obvious reasons – they sell newspapers and attract viewers.
Bus 52 focuses on the other end of the story spectrum – success. It’s a year-long project devoted to finding and promoting America’s best stories of community, innovation and improvement – good news! Bus 52 features five young people traveling around the country in a converted school bus named Stanley and broadcasting their discoveries to the world. In their own words, they’re “young, committed, insane, ridiculous, passionate, naive, energetic and full of spirit.”
The stories they’re collecting are growing into a patchwork of American innovation and optimism vignettes. These stories of success are designed to ignite the minds of those watching, further spurring community involvement and innovation.
The Bus 52 crew stopped recently in Lawrence, Kan., to feature the Jubilee Cafe and their mission of serving a delicious breakfast to homeless people. Watch below to see how they’re serving up a square meal to start the day, along with a big helping of human connection and compassion.
