Facing down fear – The Sunday Snippet – [12.16.12]

Fear is natural and it’s a part of our daily lives. It can also be paralyzing if not successfully neutralized.

The best way to deal with fear is to first gain perspective. Is there a real threat? What’s at stake? Deal with the brutal facts – good and bad.

Next, it’s important to apply some positive common sense, and change what’s being thought and said. Remove the negativity and turn around the thinking so the best ideas and words come out. Inspirational quotes can do wonders. Here are a few on fear and failure to keep nearby:

“You’ll always miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretzky

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” – Dale Carnegie

“No one ever achieved worth-while success who did not, at one time or other, find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure.” – Napoleon Hill

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill

Fear affects us all. Get used to greeting fear, acknowledging fear and overcoming fear.

Best wishes for a successful week.
