Last Sunday, as dozens of pro golfers were starting the final round at the U.S. Open in Southampton, New York, retired touring pro and TV analyst Paul Azinger made a special comment.
He said that while playing in and being in contention for a U.S. Open title might be the biggest dream of any pro golfer, winning it on Sunday is all about dreaming small.
Because every big dream is made up of a series of small ones. In golf, that means committing to every shot and executing every shot. Step by step, one hole at a time.
Dreaming big is fun. But achieving it is a grind.
It’s tough, lonely and exhausting. It keeps you away from family and friends. It makes you want to give up.
There are no shortcuts.
You’ve got to work hard Monday through Saturday if you want to play – and win – on Sunday.
Have a great week.
